Peranan Coelenterata
- Kelas Anthozoa membentuk terumbu karang sebagai tempat hidup hewan laut, sebagai wisata laut

- Umumnya gonokoris (kelamin terpisah)

Ascaris betina ujung posterior lurus, tubuh lebih besar dari yg jantan

- Semua hidup di laut
- Dapat dibedakan cacing jantan dan betina

- Rangka luar dari kitin
Dibagi menjadi 4 kelas yaitu:

- Memiliki kaki buluh (kaki ambulakral)
Dibagi menjadi 5 kelas:
1. Asteroidea (Bintang laut)
- bentuk seperti bintang dan tubuh terbagi menjadi 5 bagian
- Bagian atas tubuh berbentuk cembung dan terdapat anus
- Pada bagian oral terdapat ambulakral
- Gerak dengan kaki ambulakral
- Contoh:bintang laut
2. Echinoidea (landak laut/bulu babi)
- Berbentuk bulat,berduri panjang pada seluruh permukaan tubuhnya sehingga berbentuk seperti landak
- Mulutnya yang dilengkapi alat untuk mengambil makanan yaitu lentera aristoteles
- Di bagian dorsal terdapat anus,madreporit,dan lubang kelamin
Contoh:bulu babi, dolar pasir,landak laut
3. Ophiuroidea (Bintang ular)
- Bintang mengular memiliki cakram tengah yang jelas terlihat dari tangannya panjang sehingga memudahkannya bergerak.
- Kaki tabung (kaki ambulakral) tidak memiliki alat isap dan bintang mengular bergerak dengan mencambukkan lengannya.
- Beberapa spesies ophiuroidea merupakan hewan pemakan suspensi, dan yang lain adalah predator atau pemakan bangkai.

4. Crinoidea (Lilia laut)
- Lili laut menempel ke substratum melalui sebuah batang, mirip seperti tumbuhan
